Red House Seafood

This restaurant has always been the usual option for us when we head out to East Coast Seafood Centre. Mainly because we are always skeptical with the tourist trap Jumbo Seafood and Long Beach Seafood restaurants which are always packed with bus loads of tourist behind kettled to these 2 establishments. And we will always get a seat here in Red House without having to wait! ;)

It was only both of us today and we just wanted to kill a quick seafood craving. We started off with their signature custard prawn and we weren't dissapointed! The prawns were crunchy and not soggy albeit the sauce were smouldering all over it. Thumbs up to the chef who recommended it! Definitely something new instead of the usual prawn dishes we have tried before.

Second up is their famous braises spinach tofu. I must say this was a definite surprise coz I didn't expect the dish to be this pretty. I have to say it taste as good as it looks! :)

Lastly of course we all must have their crabs. After all that was the main reason we came here for. The crab was drowning in the delicious Singapore chili crab sauce and it was not too spicy as well. The balance was just right and the crab was as fresh as you can get for the whole 1.3 kilo of it! Yum!
