Cicchetti

It was one of those nights that we needed to do a double date night and what more to celebrate it in a nice slick Italian joint. This place was a hidden gem and we were fortunate enough to get a booking in to accommodate us. We were sat right next to the woodfired oven but I guess it has it perks as we could smell the whiff of all the good dishes and pizza coming out from there! :)

Roasted Pear rocket salad

Bismark Pizza - signature pizza of ham, cheese, mushrooms and runny egg to top off

Tagliatelle Gamberi- prawns and asparagus

Spaghetti Vongole - signature NZ clams spaghetti

Squid ink tagliatelle with crispy vegetables

Cioppino - seafood broth

Salted Caramel Chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream

Tomahawk steak ready to go into the fire!

Woodfired oven

Overall the food here is great and my favourite has to be the squid ink tagliatelle. Definitely will be back here real soon! ;)

Bistecca

It was our 7th wedding anniversary and where else would we have best celebrated it. At Bistecca of course! We decided to visit this place after many recommendations from our foodie mates so we decided to try it for ourselves.

Grill Octopus with rockets - The octopus was a tad bit tough and chewy but the seasoning was well balanced

Pan fried Scallops - This was a delight to eat as it was to look at. It definitely tasted how it looks "Perfect!"

Constata - Bone in Rib Eye (MBS 6)

It was cooked perfectly how I like it which is medium rare. Crusty and charred on the outside and tender in the inside. Although it was slightly fatty but that is the magic of the rib eye cut. Nice marbling and cooked well.

Semifredo dessert - A great way to end the night with some sweet memories. Although I normally prefer a Tiramisu in an Italian restaurant but this was a great replacement! :)

Al Forno

On a rainy night, the best place to be is obviously indoors. And a place with a nice wood fired furnace will definitely do the job perfectly to keep us warm and cozy. Heard a lot of rave reviews about this place from a mate of ours and thought we check it out for ourselves.

As you walk in the restaurant you automatically feel so cosy and its such a like a family diner place where locals around East Coast Rd frequent.

Procciutto & Buffala
Thick generous cuts of their Procciutto! First time I see such plate presentation. Nice work! Felt like we just received a bouquet of yumminess!

Spaghetti Al Nero-
This was my favourite dish through the night. Full of seafood flavour and the spaghetti was done al dante the way I like it too! =)

Pizza Con Carne-
This was the top favourite between the children. They totally enjoyed every single bite of it. I reckon its because of their homemade tomato sauce base on the pizza. We couldn't get enough of it.

Pizza Primavera-
When I am in an Italian restaurant, I normally love to order their parma ham and procciutos because I know the Italians take pride in providing the best quality of meat. And so they did with this pizza! Also their crust is soft and sponge like but the best part it was crispy at the same time. I reckon its probably the best pizzas I ever had in Singapore!

Tiramisu Cake-
This tiramisu cake dessert was ok. I think maybe because we had such a huge feast from the previous dishes made us too full to gobble this one up.

Ricciotti

We figured we venture out west today to see what's in store for us around Star Vista. Stumbled upon Ricciotti which was a great place to brunch out on a lovely Sunday morning.

We opted for their buffet brunch menu which was very good value for its price (less than SGD $30). And what a terrible mistake we made! With all the carbs we packed in our stomach it was definitely impossible to walk after the full meal! Thankfully it was for brunch and not dinner.

Pizzotto

The pizza was slightly soggy underneath but apart from that the bacon and egg gives a good touch to it since we weren't having any bacon and eggs for breakfast today. ;)

Rustica

This pizza was an unusual surprise as we were skeptical about the goat cheese. Definitely surprised us there and everything blended very well! Thumbs up to the chef!

Spaghetti Marinara

They were very generous with the seafood and the spaghetti was done al dante the way it was supposed to be.

Linguine Al Granchio

This was the highlight of all the dishes we had. This crabmeat linguine definitely stole the show with its well balanced sauce and crab meat.

Spaghetti Carbonara

I felt this was probably the least favourite and maybe I guess it was too rich and creamy for me.

Chocolate Lava cake

Red Velvet cake

Tiramisu

Overall the desserts were ok. Nothing really stood out but definitely got room for improvement. Maybe we were all too full after feasting on the carbs hence it definitely wrecked our stomach for desserts! haha.
